lt’s May and really don’t know how it got here so fast. Kids will be out of school by the time you get this and summer will be here. Not sure I am ready for the hot weather but it will be here as well ready or not! If you haven’t seen it, we have the Maskat sign burning again out front. It really looks good at night. Seems to really stand out. I’m sure the LED lighting helps but you can really see it from a distance. We had an un-named person (his request) fix the sign. Turned out a lot cheaper than we expected as well. Did I say it really looks good?? Thanks again un-named person.
Let’s talk about the Shrine Golf Tournament we just finished a week ago. I was told we had over 100 players. That is more than we have had in a while. Thanks Gordy for your hard work on this event. We picked up several additional hole sponsors along with the additional players. The Tournament was moved from a traditional Friday to a Thursday. We were a little worried about the move but the numbers will not lie. Thanks also to all the volunteers that showed up and spent hours doing what was needed to pull this event off. Not sure about the money yet, still waiting on a few bills, BUT looks like we will net between $8,000.00 and $9,000.00. Let’s keep our fingers crossed on this one!! Again, Great Job Gordy . We will miss you next year not being Chairman.
We had the drawing for the zero turn mower last Stated Meeting. The winner was Brad Rodgers!! Not sure who is going to use it at Brad’s house but he did look good sitting on his new prize. We were selling tickets up until the meeting started. So..not sure on the total income on this raffle but should have this completed early next week and will report back on final income status next month. Thanks to all that sold tickets and those who purchased tickets.
Ok, here is the deal on the Oil Bowl if you haven’t heard. No football game, but will still have Basketball and Volleyball games. Both of those are full. We simply could not get the players to sign up for the football game. We had 10 players sign up and needed in the neighborhood of 40 players to have enough for a quality game. We reached out several times to coaches for players, so I believe we did all that we could do to make this happen. With all of the competition in football games now there is not enough players to support 3 All-Star games without any D-1 players and few, if any, D-2 players. We plan on taking another look at this after the summer just to see where every one is at on this. Any other questions please ask a Divan member.
TSA is coming soon. June 11-13 are the dates, and it will be held in Austin. If you care to join us please call Cathy in the office ASAP. We are at the end of the line on this one. Love to have some Nobles join us.
As a reminder, we will be going dark in July and August. We will still have a Stated Meeting in June, so please come to the Unit Council meeting Wednesday June 3rd and the Stated Meeting June 9th.
