Legion of Honor

The Maskat Shrine Legion of Honor Unit is the charter unit of its type within the Texas Shrine Association (TSA), and has had a long history of service to the community as well as the Maskat Shrine Center.

It is the central goal and stated purpose of this unit, to foster a spirit of Patriotism and Love of Country and Flag. To perpetuate the memory of our Comrades in Arms who made the Supreme Sacrifice, by giving their lives in the service of their country while members of the Armed Forces. To devote individual efforts and unit efforts to serve the Illustrious Potentate of Maskat Shrine Center in any and every way called upon. To strive for the friendship and co-operation between all units within the Maskat Shrine. To serve as an active unit in any and all ceremonies and functions as deemed necessary and advisable. And, to provide Maskat Shrine Center with a unit to accommodate all eligible active and former Military members of the Armed Forces who are honorably serving or honorably discharged, and are members of the Shrine Center in good standing.

The Maskat Legion of Honor is a proud member of the Texas Association of Legions of Honor (TALOH) as well as the International Association of Legions of Honor (IALOH) and has a dedicated and active role in both organizations that is ongoing.

One will find the Maskat Shrine Legion of Honor at their most visible duty of Presentation of the Colors in numerous functions and activities within the activities of the Shrine. This includes, but is not limited to, Stated Meetings of the Shrine, both the Oil Bowl Parade AND Game, and numerous civic and community parades within the area.

Our function within Maskat Shrine Center is, at bottom line, to see that the goals of the Shrine, of being the best we can be at serving the Shrine Hospitals for Children, are met with the highest degree of efficiency possible. For THAT is the center of all of our efforts within this body!
