It is full swing Spring; and, as usual, there is no getting a handle on the weather. Just don’t know whether to put on a coat or a swim suit. I did miss our last Stated Meeting so I can’t speak of what happened. I loaded my lovely bride and we went on a vacation last week. So I will move on.
We had our Easter Egg Hunt on April 4th at the Shrine Land on Hatton Road. It was very well attended even though the wind was really getting after it. Didn’t get a specific count, but I would guess we had in the neighborhood of 40-50 kids out gathering Easter Eggs. We cooked all the food we brought and had very little remaining. I would call it a success.
Our next big special event is the Shrine Golf Tournament. It will be held May 7th, and it is a little different as it falls on a Thursday. We will have full access to the course and a bit of a price break as well. Again, it will again be over when the article comes out so stay tuned for the report on how we performed. I know fun will be had by all.
As most know, the May Family Shrine Picnic has been moved to October. The date and time will be announced at a later time.
We had about 16 people attend the last Happy Hour at the Temple last Thursday the 16th. It was a really good time. Our next Happy Hour at the Temple will be May 21 st at 5:30pm. Bring your wife/girl friend/some family/or friends. It’s open to all!! Let’s show off the Temple.
Our next Unit Council meeting will be May 6th at 6:30pm. Food will be provided. We would like to have a member from every unit attend. So …. if you have a chance, come out and participate or just listen and enjoy a free dinner.
The Temple office will be closed for the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 25th.
